The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) has been a topic of great discussion the past number of weeks, and months. I have supported the call for deliberation, debate and cross-committee discussion on this trade agreement.
In February, I wrote to the Chair of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Union Affairs. Joe McHugh TD, to request that CETA is put on the work programme for discussion.
Since then, we have had three hearings on CETA joined by various experts and academics, all of whom have given insight and presented arguments, which has surfaced great discussion and debate.
